Ona is usually pretty soft-spoken and we have to tell her to "say it louder so they can hear you", but this morning at breakfast (ahem, Waffle House), she shouted at the top of her lungs, "MOMMY.... I.... FARTED".

Today was a great time. We started by going out to breakfast at West Egg in West Atlanta. It's become a favorite spot of ours, especially since Katy discovered she loves eggs benedict. Ona was pretty fun at breakfast, but started getting a little antsy and crazy and after she ripped a biscuit into a million pieces, I went a little ragey and ended up with daddy guilt. Sigh.
After breakfast, we met friends at the park - Todd and his four year-old daughter Mary Grace, and Troy, Joni and their dog Uno. Was a great visit to the park, and the weather was early spring-like and awesome (high 50's, I think). We took the wagon instead of the stroller and that was a really great decision - it was mega awesome to pull the kids around the park in a wagon, for both them and us. Lots of sliding, swinging and drawing with chalk at the park led to happy, happy kids. We all went to lunch at Osteria after the park and had a nice time.
After a nice mid-afternoon nap, we headed north to Katy's parent's house for a birthday celebration for her dad and bro. The ride up there was insane beyond belief (traffic + people doing massively jerky things = insane beyond belief). Anyhows, we made it there, and had a blast! Ona is obsessed with our niece Laura and turns into the cutest and most hilarious little bugger around her. It's so awesome she's got such great cousins nearby. Katy and I played many games of cards with the Stout's (I was the big loser, but at least I lost in style, once in spades by 400 points!), and Katy's sister Amy made wickedly good bbq chicken. Mmmmmm.
OK, that was a boring update. It's what we did today. It's 12:48am and I can't sleep, so the blog readers suffer. :)

From my Mom (aka "GiGi") today, she's taking Ona to her art class this afternoon, and I guess she wanted to go diva.

This Thanksgiving we took a duck tour of Austin with Pop (Eric's dad) Lola (Eric's step-mom), and Amanda (Eric's sister). It was colder than we excepted and windy. During the ride, Ona yelled, "GET OUT OF MY FACE, WIND!" She said it with so much hate and anger in her voice. Very funny.
In preparation for our Thanksgiving trip to see Eric's family, we were talking a lot about Pop, Lola, and Amanda. In the car one day I said we were going to see Amanda and Ona said, "that's daddy's sister?" I said, "Yes, good job." Then she said, "Ona's sister is Uncle John."
In the beginning of December we were grocery shopping. Ona kept kicking her boot off in the store. Each time I'd tell her nicely to keep her boots on. Finally on time 4 or 5, I asked her "what's going on with you today?" She looked me in my eyes and said, "Mommy, I just be crazy."
Since Ona's birthday in July, she thinks everyone is 2. It cracks us up, that we ask her all the time, how old is mommy, how old is daddy, and so on. On one visit with Gigi and Tutu (Eric's mom and grandma), he wanted to show them how funny it is she thinks everyone is 2 so he asked, how old is Tutu. Ona said, "really old!"
Ona has quite a sweet southern accent due to her daycare. She's picked up some sayings that crack us up such as "he be crazy" and "come own" for come on, but the one that cracked me up the most was the verse of wheels on the bus that I'd never heard before: The Mommies on the bus say HUSH THAT FUSS! So funny, I asked her teachers to make sure I was hearing her correctly and they said yes. They changed it from daddies because they don't want the children to be afraid of daddies. One day Ona was being sassy and jokingly I said, hush that fuss baby. Poor thing started crying. Haven't said it since.
I have no idea where she gets this, but when she greets Milli the cat she'll say, "hey boo boo" or "hey sweety."
Ona has grown up so much this year. She's soft spoken and shy at first, but she is a sassy little thing which pleases me to no end. She is charming, but won't take any bull. At Troy's Christmas Party this year, she was literally dancing around and singing songs. I love that she can feel comfortable just being who she is.

Ona is cracking me up lately with some of her new "tricks." When you ask her a questions, a lot of times she'll say, "ummm" before answering. In her high pitched voice it's just so cute!
Ona's really into numbers (shocker considering her father, right?). She run around saying, "1, 2, 3, 2, 1" and "17, 18, 19, 17, 18, 19." Her teachers say this is normal and that eventually she'll count in the correct direction. I think it's funny.
She's starting to pick up some of our "bad" habits. The other day she told me "no dammit." It surprised me and made me laugh so hard she's bound to repeat it often.
She is also very polite. I love when she says "excuse me" to get by you or when people burp.

Here's a picture of Ona from this week when Gigi, Eric's mom Donna, took her to the park. I think it's so cute, but the err camera angle makes her head look big....ya, that's it:)

This spring break was unlike all other spring breaks...it was our first official family vacation. We went to Amelia Island for a few days. Ona LOVED playing in the sand and walking up and down the beach. She also loved throwing her little Elmo figurines into the water, shouting "oh no!" and then running to get them before the small waves took them away. I'm so impressed with how well she adapted to staying at a new place and all the sand. This was her first beach trip ever and probably only the 2nd or 3rd time introduced to water. It was too cold to go swimming really, but she walked up and down getting her feet and legs wet along the beach edge.

This is from Snow Mountain in Feb. She DIDNOT like the snow!

Ona said I love you for the first time last night. She said it 2x to Eric. It was the sweetest thing ever! By the end of the night she was saying it over and over...telling Elmo and all her toys. I just want to bottle her up.
Last weekend we went for a family hike up Stone Mountain. OMG-it was harder than I thought. I was out of breath and having to stop allot and I wasn't even carrying the baby in the backpack. On the way down Ona fell asleep from all the hard work. I guess all that riding can wear a kid out. Poor Eric said the backpack almost doubled in weight when she fell asleep.
